Health Clinics location for Universal Health Care
The implementation of the Universal Health Care Act in the Philippines in 2019 opened more opportunities to provide affordable and quality healthcare services to Filipino citizens, along with reducing out-of-pocket expenditures. The act states that all Filipinos would be automatically enrolled in the National Health Insurance Program administered by PhilHealth to provide comprehensive primary care benefits and establish healthcare provider networks.
The local government units from all provinces and highly urbanized cities’ involvement in the health services gives a wider reach now with the implementation of the act. Additional hospitals and healthcare clinics are also expected to contribute to the existing healthcare facilities to cater to more Filipinos having access to the healthcare that they deserve.
The initiative of different health clinics in compliance with the Universal Healthcare act focuses on reorganizing the health system with interventions in community and regional healthcare facilities; improvements in service provision, the model of care, and the Health Information System; and the expansion of the national health insurance scheme, among other aspects.
We see how the Philippines is serious about its goal to provide every Filipino access and health coverage to all people, leaving no one behind.
